Do you know what CDUCS can do for you?

Starting this Fall, all districts are required to submit statewide assessment data, enrollment data, teacher assignment data, and other elements required to meet the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) reporting requirements through the state mandated California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS).

The CALPADS Data Unification and Collection System (CDUCS) facilitates the gathering of necessary data for CALPADS staff reporting as well as the Staff Demographics section for the Online Public Update for Schools (OPUS) state reporting.  With the new CALPADS reporting requirements, including multi-ethnicity and data relating to NCLB legislation, CDUCS provides a solution for joining any student system with the Human Resource System (PC2000 or EPICS) for the purpose of creating CALPADS and OPUS submission files, thereby eliminating the need for redundant data entry of staff data into the student system.  CDUCS will compile and export OPUS and CALPADS ready files that can be either submitted directly to CDE or can be imported back into the districts’ Student System.

CALPADS reporting involves the gathering, organizing, and formatting extensive amounts of data, a function already performed by student systems.  It would neither be practical nor useful for CDUCS to fully recreate the functionality for all sets of CALPADS data for reporting.  Instead, CDUCS focuses specifically on staff-related data.  It accepts the import of CALPADS format files, accesses Position Control 2000 and EPICS databases, and can generate CALPADS and OPUS format files for export with the additional data incorporated.
